Play from the middle station toward Hainfurt main station. Maybe miss a couple of stations on the way (I don't know whether that matters). You may pull into the main station only to see a train on your track by the platform. If there were a train there there should have been a red signal prior.

Let's just ignore how the signalling system works. We probably want to fake this.
@waugh when did you start playing (Game start time, if you didn't select anything then the default is chosen)

I started at the default time.

I don't know that the other train ever leaves.

A couple of times, I ran through it. No collision is detected.

I played it again, and this time didn't miss any stations. I became one minute late. The ghost train was still there, on my track. The simulator is at 0.8.
