More than one VST instrument on a single track? #260

Hi Helio Workstation Community. I recently installed Helio Workstation a couple of days ago (portable ver. 3.10 x64). Looks great! In fact, upon opening the program, it reminds me of the UI on my current DAW (Cockos Reaper). I am looking to experiment with some ideas on composing vocal melodies over a chord progression (chord progression that I have already composed). The tutorials I have been watching and reading on 'Lyric structure and vocal melody composition' utilize HookPad (by HookTheory) as a tool for displaying their teachings. I was unfamiliar with HookPad and upon further research discovered there are other alternatives namely Helio (that I have since installed). Question 1 please: Question 2 please: Question 3 please: Question 4 please: Thank you for your time. |

Please ignore question # 4 in my original post. I discovered the answer yesterday while getting more familiar with Helio. |

Hi, thanks for asking!
That's correct. When I started this project back in 2014-ish, I was absolutely convinced I'd make a GarageBand killer, no less, but soon learned that I could only afford to maintain features that fit my own needs rather than trying to make a full-fledged DAW, so you can still see the word "workstation" left here and there since then, which is a bit misleading, I may need to clean it up someday. The app now aims to be more of a sketching tool, or an advanced piano roll, a "Sublime Text for musicians" kind of thing.
As far as I'm aware, no. My own channel only contains some showcases at the moment, and if I ever have the time to make tutorial videos, will post them there.
Well yes, except it's an unpaid open-source project that doesn't offer any support. Which is to say, as a maintainer, I'm happy to help if I can and have the time, but you probably shouldn't expect me or anyone else to do so (though, at the very least, I'm reading and considering all the feedback here on the Github, even when not responding).
Not that I know of any of them. |
