In order to fully support hierarchical systems, we need a "tree sync" mechanism to synchronize bulk child state with parents of the intermediate node.

This feature has been indefinitely postponed. It may or may not really be necessary, since hierarchical systems can easily be managed by simply deploying more krakens.

Re-opening this one. It looks like something we probably want eventually.
