If I want to connect to e.g. a VPN connection (there might be other use cases that are affected by that behavior), the login overlay blocks the whole screen, which prevents e.g. picking the right password out of a password manager.
It might not be considered a bug, but it's at best a serious UX regression compared to Mint 21.x. In Mint 21 the VPN login was a simple window as other programs like the Password Manager. So it was easy to switch back and forth between the two to gather all stored information for a specific login.
Regarding the technical process, I can't see any requirement to block the whole screen for a VPN Login. Are there any actions that need to be prohibited for system/login safety reasons, while logging into a VPN connection?
Steps to reproduce
Left click on network icon on the task bar
Select VPN connection, that requires a manual login
Login overlay with the input field pops up. It's not possible to open an application or select anything e.g. from a password manager to gather login information.
Expected behavior
Login screen allows interaction with the system or other applications.
