Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes/No

  • VS Code Version: 1.96.4
  • OS Version: MAC Darwin x64 24.2.0

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. .Net Install tool in output : ms-dotnettools.csdevkit requested to download the .NET ASP.NET Runtime.
    Downloading .NET version(s) 8.0.12x64aspnetcore ........... Done!
    .NET 8.0.12x64aspnetcore executable path: /Users/mpadmaos10/Library/Application Support/Code/User/globalStorage/ms-dotnettools.vscode-dotnet-runtime/.dotnet/8.0.12x64aspnetcore/dotnet

  2. While building the solution, it is throwing the below error.
    Activating the "Microsoft.VisualStudio.CpsProjectIconSourceService (0.1)" service failed.
