How to Fork a Repository in GitHub

  1. Open the repository.

  2. Click the Fork button on the top-left of the page.

    This will open the Create a new fork page.

    • Create a Repository Name for your forked repository.
    • Click the Create Fork.
  3. You can click the Add File or + > Create File to create a file.

  4. You can use the name_of_the_student.txt.

  5. Create the content of the file.

  6. Click the Commit changes button.

  7. It will open a Commit Changes modal form.
