The Google Cloud Monitoring API gives you access to over 900 Stackdriver Monitoring metrics from Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services. You can create your own custom metrics and can organize your cloud resources using groups.

gcpmetrics tool is simple command line wrapper to query Google Monitoring API v3. This is handy when you need to integrate some of the counters with systems like Zabbix.

For an example of how to use gcpmetrics for integration of Zabbix with Google Cloud Platform, please refer to the "Google Cloud Platform monitoring with Zabbix" article.
