Brought 3 slices of aluminium plates => https://www.ebay.de/itm/185154514004
- 2 x 300 mm outer diameter and 3 mm thickness (to have a lead of the toothed belt)
- 1 x 250 mm outer diameter and 8 mm thickness
Steps
- First drill a centric hole in all 3 slices and connect all (250 mm diameter in the middle) via a screw.
- Now drill holes in outer diameter (diameter 220 mm) and connect all to an sandwidtch again via screws.
- After removing the screw in the middle make enlarge the centric hole that it fits to the axis of the wheel.
- Now remove the wheel, insert the sandwidtch and mount the wheel again.
- Next step is connecting the sandwidch to the wheel via additional screws.
- With that there should be a solid connection between the motor and the wheel.
The motor have to have the correct position that the belt can running free.
- having 2 roles pressing the belt around the pulley of the motor
- One side of the belt could adjust the tension of the belt.
- Other side to realize a kind of clutch: easy to open!
- a lot
- Using a Arduino Nano to scaling down the installation
- Using another stepper controller to scaling down the installation
- Using the 2 free channels on remote control for bow thruster (should be easy, isn't it?)
- Alternatively using a 8 channel remote control for additional things (like anchor windlass and engine)
- couple the Arduio to other devices => automatic navigation ;-)
